Interactive Virtual Neurophysiology Lab Created by Shaun James

Explore the interactions of the neuro-glial-vascular unit.

Choose a view, start with its Guided Tutorial if you are visiting it for the first time, and then use the controls to explore how neural activity, metabolism, glia, and blood flow shape the simulation.

1

Pick a View

Choose the neuron, synapse, or cortical column scene from the view dropdown or start buttons below.

2

Start Guided

When you enter a view for the first time, turn on Guided Tutorial before trying Fire AP, Blockables, filters, or Pathologies.

3

Explore and Learn

Animated particles, voltage traces, vascular flow, and glial responses show what is active in each scene.

What to expect

  • The cortical column emphasizes layered tissue, vasculature, glia, and pathology overlays.
  • The neuron view focuses on action potentials, metabolic support, myelin, ions, and waste clearance.
  • The synapse view zooms into vesicle release, receptor signaling, reuptake, and astrocyte participation.
